Compassion Park

As I awake to the beautiful music of our Birds
Listen to the Squirrels in the quietness of the trees
Dream of the sun comming through the sky
Watching the flowers come alive
Listen to the trickle of the river below

I hope to see all the smiling, glowing faces
Through my dayof adventures
In the Park they call Compassion

Robbing Peter to Pay Paul

The one problem with robbing Peter is that he always wants his pay back. He takes it in the form of death, illness, loss of family and friends, loneliness, depression, homelessness and countless other painful and humiliating ways. Like death you don’t know when he is coming, just that one day he will be there.

So why do we gamble with Him? Why do we play? We could blame it on music, TV, movies, poor church attendance, bad up-bringing, greed …what else? – Lots!!

If we know Peter’s going to collect why don’t you slow down? Why not change your path? After all, life is short. Do you really want to live it at an emotional deficit? I suppose so, that is what keeps Peter rich.

What’s another name for Peter?

At the age of 19 I got Hepatitis from sharing a needle with my best friend. Neither of us thought much about it and continued with our lives. In 1992 he died of a drug overdose at the age of 37.
Now at the age of 50 Peter has come to collect his price from me. For a minimum of 12 weeks, and possibly up to a year, I will inject a drug called Pegatron into my Body. I am told that it is going to be no picnic, but Peter demands his price.
